About who needs care: My Dad has non- severe Dementia. Just short term memory loss. He is otherwise healthy, he was a marathon runner. and triathalete He still showers and gets himself ready, although may need help tying shoes soon. We are here only 4 months and we both are still adjusting to altitude change. My Dad loves to travel and has traveled a lot and worked in other countries for the airlines. Born in Germany, having loved hiking in the Alps and German Forest, he now enjoys the beautiful Mountain scenery of Bozeman. I teach meditation classes downtown and would need someone at least ones a week to start, maybe 2 days. Then as I get busy and add client days there will be more. The work will be easy, mostly errands and helping him 'get out', even go to lunch or dinner if I am working. Companionship, someone to talk to and have stimulating conversations. Ideally a European background for ease in conversation, but not a deal breaker. (his past memory is excellent). He is very professional looking, (the women love him) likes modern, high end architecture and design. He is a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. Hobby's he hasn't shown much interest in but may be open to try. He is slowing down but still walks without a cane. About the care needs: My Dad feels most comfortable with women care takers. It would be helpful if there was a European background, maybe even some German language skills. He has many travel stories, so if you like travel, you would get along well. He likes classical music and finer restaurants although a nice farm table works too; that mountain modern feel. If you like conversation, humor and enjoy casual outings or 'exploring' (on a 80 yr old level), you will be a good fit.
