Looking for an experienced and compassionate hands-on care provider for my 81-year-old father. After recovering from strokes and spending two months in rehab, he is being discharged this Friday, 3/14. While cognitively sound, he does experience mild memory challenges typical for his age (no known dementia). Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, medication management, toileting or cleaning as needed, and providing lower body support while walking (he can walk approximately 150 feet with assistance, such as holding a gait belt). His physical therapists have assessed his balance at 16/28, highlighting the need for some mobility assistance. The frequency and schedule of care can be discussed further. Preference will be given to non-smoking caregivers.
