About who needs care: Our mother is 86 years old, and her health has been declining for some time, particularly over the past six months. She entered hospice care a couple of months ago due to COPD, late-stage dementia, and antibiotic-resistant kidney/UTI issues. She sleeps more and more each day. Hospice care is limited to four visits per week, with each visit lasting about an hour. My sister and I have been living with her, managing her care, coordinating with hospice, and balancing our own jobs, families, and lives. We are seeking additional help to give us a break a few days per week. Specifically, we need around-the-clock coverage If you're interested, wed love to discuss further, meet in person at her place, and see if it would be a good fit for everyone. About the care needs: We are seeking someone kind, trustworthy, and compassionate to assist with: Personal care: Toileting, showering, dressing, and assisting her with movement (to the bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen table). Medication management: Ensuring she takes the proper medications as needed. Daily routine support: Helping her get into bed in the evening, changing clothes, and overseeing her overall well-being. Light household tasks: Preparing meals, washing dishes, and doing laundry. She sleeps about 10-12 hours at night and naps most of the day, so much of the role involves ensuring her comfort and care when she is awake. If you're interested, we'd love to meet in person to discuss further and see if this would be a good fit for everyone. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help us care for our mother with love and dignity in this final stage of her life. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
