About who needs care: He is recently been in the hospital and is awaiting a procedure to address a kidney stone. He has nearly no teeth so his diet is tricky. He has a history heart attacks and stroke. He has been living independently with his wife, my mom. He is currently in a TCU but has not been receiving adequate care. We as a family are looking into how he can get the support he needs. He gets up to take medication around 7 a.m. His wife does not wake until 11:30/ 12. It would be important to have someone there at least until she is up and moving. About the care needs: Easy going, patient, interesting- willing to share a bit about themselves so my parents can get familiar with them and then be willing to listen... my dad loves to talk. He has worked as a CPA and loves doing taxes- he continues to do this work some. There have been numerous health care situations that were trying. They have past trauma and distrust of caregivers. Communicating thoroughly about what you're doing, how or why you're doing it that way may be helpful - at least to start. He has a urine stoma and has been independent with those changes. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
