About who needs care: My mother has Alzheimer's and it currently staying at a Nursing Facility. They currently do not have the staff to take her on walks outside of the facility and this can be very frustrating for my mom. I am looking for a caretaker that can take her on walks twice a week (weather permitting) or out of the facility for coffee, etc. My mother is a very social person and is currently very depressed in the facility as she does not have a great deal of social or physical outlet (she is basically stuck on her floor). She is very social but can get agitated and irritable at times due to the dementia. About the care needs: I need someone who is positive, who is a good listener (my mother talks a lot and sometimes will tell stories that are not true or do not follow a logical direction), and is kind. My mom likes to walk, be outdoors (we moved her to Michigan from California where she has lived her entire life and the weather and constantly being indoors is really getting to her), and feel the sun on her face. Looking for a female. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, and mobility assistance.
