Needs 1:1 supervision and companionship to get out of the house for walks around the block, to sing songs, to exercise, to converse, to create therapeutic art. She is getting stale from lack of stimulation. She needs transport and/or stress-free purposeful activity to support emotional regulation. Anticipation is that she will need a friend for grief counseling in the future years soon when family elders die. Seeking a companion with consistency, and commitment, for a start of 1-3 hours per week, progressing to 5-8 hours per week over the next couple years. About the care needs: Ideal caregiver can be a good communicator with multiple group home staffers and with family. Need a reliable car plus a chauffer license is preferred for occasional outings. Willingness for simple outdoor walking for fresh air. Ability to share happy vocal song is a plus. Safety-minded and an advocate while engaging with this woman in community experiences. Experience with recognition of cognitive developmental levels is a plus, as this woman operates similar to that of a 4-5-year-old for cognition. Good hearing acuity from caregiver is necessary, as this woman has imprecise speech that initially might be difficult to decipher. Ideal caregiver has maturity and trustworthiness.
