About who needs care: She has metastatic breast cancer of the bone. For the second time, she will be undergoing radiation and targeted chemotherapy, specifically for the spread to her skull. These treatments will possibly affect her vision and cognition, in addition to nausea and other more minor side effects. She also has cervical disc issues in her neck, so her mobility and range of motion is already impaired. She loved to paint, do puzzles and cross words, and appreciates care that is calm and warm, and a good listener. About the care needs: As I mentioned in the last section, she would fit well with a calming and warm personality, someone who would appreciate her stories and has a sense of humor. She responds really well to women in particular who are encouraging, but not too pushy if that makes sense. And understands my mother's modesty and desire to go at her own pace and direction. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
