About who needs care: My mother has Stage 4 Dementia, along with manic bipolar disorder which both are managed through medication. My mom also has low calcium and high blood pressure (I believe). My mother stays in the house all day and has no desire for hobbies, except watching her television shows. My mother also eats McDonalds ONLY daily. She refuses to eat other food options, with the exception of pizza and popcorn. She also does not bathe on her own. You would have to get her to take a shower and chance her clothes daily. Hygiene is a thing. From morning to night, my mom will eat breakfast and take her medication. Watch television and nap throughout the day. My mom does not do any other activity, but I try to make her exercise and stretch when I see her everyday. About the care needs: I am looking for a female preferably who loves New York. My mom is from New York and likes to talk about the city if brought up. Someone who can make my mom laugh will be a great fit. My mom needs to stimulate her mind a bit more by reading, coloring and completing word puzzles, etc. But its hard to get her to do these things on her own. My mom also likes going outside to smoke her cigarettes, but needs to go for walks daily if she can. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
