About who needs care: My Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2018. He is looking for basic in home care to help with: - Administering medicine at appropriate dosage and at right times and documenting it - Making sure he eats his meals at the appropriate times to maximize medication efficacy - Driving to run errands (e. g., pick up a prescription, groceries, take Dad to appointments) - Going for walks during the day - Helping with house chores: laundry, dishes, cleaning - Spending time with my Dad during the day (playing cards, talking, doing Parkinson's exercises with him) - Preventing him from going down unhelpful, frustrating rabbit holes (e. g., trying to retrieve deleted text messages from Verizon) My Dad doesn't have many hobbies but he enjoys going for walks, playing cards and doing his Parkinson's exercises. He has a loose daily routine that includes making tea and breakfast after he wakes up, running errands, doing some administrative tasks, doing his Parkinson's exercises and going for 1-2 walks. My Mom lives with my Dad but she is still working full time. My grandmother also lives with them which is why in home help is needed. About the care needs: Personality: someone who is patient, can listen for extended periods of time, is positive and supportive. Specialized Skills: nothing in particular, but tracking his medication, meal timing and how much he slept will be helpful Hobbies / Interests: none needed Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
