About who needs care: My Mom suffered 3 strokes back to back in late May, and is now home receiving care from my Dad and other family members when they are available. She is bedridden, and is not able to feed herself, or do any daily tasks at this point. My Dad is 76 years old, and he needs someone to help with brief changing and some feeding. Constant care is not necessary, but 3 hour interval assistance for soiled and wet briefs is needed mostly. I am one of the primary care givers who overseers these tasks; however, I need to be out of town for the day, so I am looking for someone primarily for tomorrow but potentially for more Saturdays in the future. My parents do have 2 dogs who are friendly, but they bark upon visitor entrances. About the care needs: We would like for our caregiver to be someone who is familiar with stroke patients, and who is willing to be patient and gentle. My Mom is very sweet, but she has regressed since the start of her rehab journey due to less than ideal care in a rehab facility for the past 4 months. They're isn't a need for medical knowledge, only someone who is physicality strong enough to assist with my daily care-giving tasks. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
