About who needs care: We are looking for help caring for my parents who still are in their home with a lot of help from me. I am there every morning until 1pm-ish Monday / Friday and pop in on the weekend. Mom is 90 and dad is 87. Dad just came out of 3month rehab, has Parkinson's and heart issues and sever mobility issues. He cannot manage anything by himself other than feeding himself. He needs help getting out of bed, everything in the bathroom, getting dressed, moving around the house, etc. He has sleep issues and is constantly up in the middle of the night for no reason. Since he is an extreme fall risk this is a big concern. Mom is more mobile but with a lot of pain and difficulty. She has memory issues and cannot remember to take her meds, use hearing aids, eat regularly or feed my dad regularly. She can get herself up, bathed, dressed and have a very simple day. I believe shes been having incontinence issues and has soiled herself. They need help with laundry as well. About the care needs: Someone who is joyful, happy but not overly animated, not bossy, can come alongside in a very caring manner while at the same time no nonsense, enjoys history, can help with computer stuff, Spanish culture (Mom is from Colombia), good listener but also able to initiate conversation. No specialized skills needed. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
