About who needs care: I am the gentleman's guardian and friend and am presently in Indiana and am trying to do all this long distance. He has mild dementia and was just in hospital for a UTI and sudden unexplained leg weakness. Before this he was walking 2-4 miles every day. He was in rehab in Waltham for 4 days where they treated him very poorly so I am bringing him back to his apartment at the VNA assisted living where they require that he not be alone for the first 2 weeks after returning. A friend was going to stay with him, but he has to be Virginia for his mother's 105 birthday celebration. My friend is coming home this morning He was one of the original computer programmers, and very bright and loves to talk about the old days of early AI at MIT. He loves football, plays bridge and used to play chess pretty well. Because he is just getting his leg strength back he will probably spend more time than I would like watching TV. The building has a dining room where he eats. I manage his medications which are minimal Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
