About who needs care: My grandfather, Gene, is 94 and on Hospice. He has dementia and is pleasantly confused. Gene is still mobile with his walker, able to transfer from bed to commode, walk to the kitchen and living room. Recently he has had multiple falls and is in need of 24/7 supervision and assistance to make sure he safely makes it to his destination. He wears depends in case he has an accident making it to the commode but otherwise is continent. He will need help with sponge baths and dressing at times. Gene has a very loving wife and a very involved supportive family. We, as a family, will be present most days but need help filling in times when we cannot be there. For many years, Gene was a commercial artist for the T&G and owned an advertising business later in life. You will find the walls of his home decorated with his recreational works of art depicting his travels with his wife during retirement. He also took up flying as a hobby midlife. He is an amazing father and grandfather who is easy going and welcoming of new faces. About the care needs: Gene is in need of help with transfer from bed to commode, or bed to kitchen/ living room. He is a minimal 1 assist oob and when he gets walking with his walker needs stand by assist. His biggest need is safety. Services needed include: mobility assistance.
