About who needs care: My mom just turned 79. She has Parkinsons Disease & multiple orthopedic injuries/challenges which have left her wheelchair-bound. Additionally, she is unable to use her hands for most things. She does have a home health aid who comes in 3 days/week (M/W/F) for about 6 hours (11-5). My dad is also home. My mom's needs continue to increase and though she probably should go into an assisted living facility soon, she is trying to delay that as long as possible. Her biggest challenge right now is evening routine (dinner, getting ready for bed, etc.). It is simply taking her too long & she is getting to bed way too late every night! It would be helpful if at least a few nights weekly (maybe more?) she had help & my father had a break. Id be interested in learning if there is anyone that does that in her area, and the cost/insurance info. Thanks! About the care needs: A woman who is understanding, kind, patient and a great sense of humor. Also needs to be strong enough to help with transfer from wheelchair as needed. And needs to be able to respect my fathers needs in the process (can be explained later). Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
