Seeking an HHA/CNA to do personal, hands-on care for my husband, an 82-year-old veteran with ALS. He is cognitively aware and helps direct his care. Tasks vary depending on the shift including light meal prep (pureed diet) and feeding, bed bath, transferring from wheelchair to bed using a mechanical lift which does most of the work. Training is provided. Patience and compassion are key and a willingness and ability to learn my husband's routine. Can be up to 30 hours a week. This is a special VA program which pays $30-$35 an hour which is taxed. A CORI background check is provided.
