About who needs care: My husband has dementia. He is loud, argumentative, verbally abusive, uncooperative and insulting. He has fallen several times. He is unsteady in his gait and has weakness in his knees. He is cognitively impaired regarding his safety. Example of this is poor judgment regarding appropriate amount of light at night to walk to bathroom. He believes complete darkness is OK. He is told to wear socks AND shoes while inside house not just shoes. He seriously needs dental work. He does not have upper front teeth. About the care needs: A male with strong verbal persuasive ability is preferred because of my husbands opposition to bathing, dental hygiene and changing his clothes. He is more apt to be willing to say: get a haircut and get dental care with a strong male influence. My husband needs to take walks and strengthen his legs, knees and feet. He used to like playing poker. A person with knowledge of game of poker would be terrific. Services needed include: mobility assistance.
