About who needs care: My mom recently was hospitalized for pneumonia and was released a few days ago. She is only 60 years old and before this was in good health. She has an older dog who needs walking twice a day but needs only limited exercise for the most part. She typically works full time in a very active job but is currently home bound with supplemental oxygen. About the care needs: I believe my mother would prefer a caregiver who is non judgmental, helpful yet not overly pushy. They should have the ability to walk a 45 pound dog, assist with cooking and light housework to help keep things in order. She was unable to bring in her own groceries for example. My mom enjoys the outdoors, music , dogs and gardening in the summer. I believe she would connect most with a laid back person who does not treat her as ill but is kind and offers to help in whatever way she needs on a given day. Hours would vary, but it would be ideal to at least have someone checking in on her daily. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
