About who needs care: Mom has dementia, but is physically strong. She needs assistance with meals, light housekeeping, weekly trips to the beauty shop and medications. She loves her animals and is able to care for her dogs (outdoors) and cats (some in a barn, some in the house). That is her main purpose and keeps her active. She feeds them in the mornings, before her caregiver arrives, and again in the afternoon. In the morning, she gets a light breakfast with her morning meds. She'll need to have lunch, and make sure she has her evening meds available for the afternoon/evening caregiver. About the care needs: A female with a Christian background is a plus. A love of animals is a must! Someone with an engaging personality, but not too pushy. Mom is a quiet person, rather introverted, so needs to be encouraged to remain engaged. She always brightens up when someone speaks with her about things she enjoys. An important note: Mom is very modest, so her privacy is imperative when she takes her showers, etc. She is able to dress herself, but sometimes may need help picking things out. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
