About who needs care: Spouse has Parkinson's and dementia. He will need assistance to the bathroom, using the tv remote control, assist in using the cellphone/tablet, and someone to just sit and watch tv with him. Occasionally, move exercise equipment for him to use and maybe sort through files. He has poor balance and will need a strong person to help pick him up. Hobbies were fishing and golfing but is unable to do those due to balance so tv has become his normal. A typical day would be just sitting with him or helping him to the bathroom. For the most part he watches tv all day. He sometimes has paperwork to sort through and using a printer will be a must. He will also need lunch. Can be a prepared meal I have made or anything he is in the mood for like take out or fresh food. I will take care of the food I just need to make sure he gets fed and his meds are given on time. About the care needs: I would prefer a male caregiver because he can be difficult to get up out of the floor at times when he falls. He occasionally gets choked and will need someone that can assist in hitting him on the back or making sure he can clear his airway. He loves all sports so someone that has a background in athletics would be great. Services needed include: companionship, and mobility assistance.
