About the job
I am looking for companion care for my husband who has early onset Alzheimers and is currently living in a memory care facility. The ideal match will have a good sense of humor, a big smile and calm demeanor. He responds actively to mood, so energy is important. His facility is entirely older residents and he is only 57, so I feel he benefits from someone who will walk with him, put on music and dance, toss a small nerf ball, etc. You may be helping with bathing once or twice a week. The days I list are flexible. I am ok if you only have room for 2 or 3 shifts a week. Most evenings, his current caregiver, who is leaving, makes a snack and they watch a movie, and she puts him to bed. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker.
