About who needs care: She has a fairly strict routine that moves her through her day easily. She is in a wheelchair and her right side is completely flaccid due to a stroke she experienced over 20 years ago. We need someone who is able assist her with transferring to and from her wheelchair several times during a shift. This is a very physically demanding position and you must be able to lift, pivot and pull. We need a caregiver that can maneuver through these transfers similarly if not the same as her other caregivers to provide consistency. She lives in her own apartment within a senior living community. Her caregivers assist her with most all of her daily tasks, including preparing breakfast, showering, giving medication, laundry, tidying up, etc. About the care needs: We are looking for a caregiver that is physically able to assist with transfers safely and consistently. Someone who has a silly side and can keep our lady smiling and sharing laughs. Our lady loves music so a caregiver who is ready to rock out to some Elvis, old time or Jazz tunes during the morning routine would be excellent. A caregiver that will take note of little things and do tasks around her apartment just as the other caregivers do is ideal. Our lady thrives off consistency and routine. We need a caregiver who is reliable and dependable. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
