Hands-on Care Needed For My Loved One In Olathe

About who needs care: Cory suffered a massive stroke in April of this year. He is 55 years old. He has minimal use of his left arm, has some left leg loss but is able to walk. He has suffered field cuts on the left side of both eyes so he has problems with this. Cory is very smart. He is able to converse and do certain things for himself. However there is also some cognitive loss and for the time being, I his aunt and Willy his life long friend have guardianship and conservatorship for him. Cory owns a brewery and is still qute interested in it. He would like to participate more but for the time being we are holding him back to going to brewery maybe once or twice a month. Both for the good of Cory and for the good of the buisness. Cory in the past likes to cook and enjoys food, receipes, etc. He also liked to hunt. He would love to get a new bird dog but that is perhaps not in the cards at the moment, He use to love to read but I am afraid with his eye problems that he really cant do much of this, Daily structure; Make sure he is up, showered, shaved , teeth brushed and dressed. He should be able to do this himself- but would need someone to stand by to make sure he hasnt fallen, etc. Maybe help dry off and assist with dressing. Help with breakfast. Maybe just assist and make sure dishes are taken care of. Take care of laundry. Daily physical activity: walking or some type of physical therapy for at least 30 minutes a day. Possibly run errands, go grocery shopping, shopping for essentials, maybe play chess? Help to keep him engaged in life About the care needs: Smart- funny- someone current with today's activities. Someone to help him with his physical therapy. Perhaps help him to begin to read. His hobbies prior to the stroke Hunting; fishing: walking, Cooking- trying out different types of food perhaps some travel Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
