About who needs care: Dad had a brain bleed March 3rd. Was in the hospital for 8 days and has now been at a Rehab Center. Now that Medicare won't cover anymore after Friday we're looking at taking him home around April 12-15. We will have a hospital bed, wheelchair, walker and everything he needs. He has been walking with his walker in Rehab the past few days so we're hopeful that he'll be able to walk short distances with his walker. He can feed himself. We would need help getting him showered and dressed daily, with some of his exercises and probably changing him to get him ready for bed. We're looking at probably 2-3 hours in the morning and another 2 hours late afternoon/early evening. About the care needs: My Dad is a retired farmer. He doesn't really have any hobbies, though he was going to the gym 2-3 days a week for the past 6 years prior to this past December. He is approximately 5'7" and weighs around 195. Would need someone strong enough to be able to help lift him if needed. Would like someone gentle and compassionate. From what we've been told the brain bleed is still there so some days he's better at talking than others. He does wear hearing aids, but really has to be able to read lips even with those in. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
