About who needs care: Stage 4 Liver Cirrhosis Hoping/waiting on a liver transplant - will need care before and after transplant. She will have many appointments that she will need assistance getting to when family members/friend are unable to assist. She is a fall-risk, so she needs to be supervised when moving from place to place. Essentially, we need someone to be home during the day so that my dad can go to work without leaving her alone. She is an animal lover through and through. She's a lover of Little House on the Prairie and Golden Girls. She wants to be crafty in any ways that she can be to keep her mind/hands occupied. Right now, her ideal day is pretty minimal. She needs to eat sufficient amount according to her liver healthy diet. When she has the energy, she would love to get out of the house even for an hour at the store. About the care needs: Extremely patient. Good listener and can be an advocate when needed. Mom is very stubborn, hence the need for patience. Her condition can lead to confusion, so someone that is responsible enough to follow through with her medication regiment is critical. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
