About who needs care: My aunt is surprisingly healthy for her age. However mobility, self care and home maintenance have become more difficult. She was recently released from rehab for a serious fall she took. She is mostly content to nap and watch tv but social interactions such as simply engaging in conversation or watching tv together are certainly welcome as well. About the care needs: My aunt can be a force to be reckoned with and can be quite stubborn. She has a sharp mind and likes to be in control (at 91 I guess shes earned that right to a degree). She needs someone who is neither meek nor authoritative but is still genuinely open, warm and friendly. Middle-aged with a solid career in the field would likely make my aunt feel more confident in the decision to allow outside help. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
