About the job
About who needs care: He has neurodegenerative disease. Lewy Body Dementia. He is confused much of the time. He needs 24 hour supervision. He can still eat on his own, but needs help getting food ready. Dispensing meds. Self care like cleaning, bathing, changing clothes. He sleeps much of the time but does have sundowners so is more restless at night. He just started med for that. His wife is leaving so we need a live in caretaker. He is also getting a hospice evaluation. We, his family, are present and active in his care, but we have jobs and families and cannot live with or be with him all the time like he needs. We can do errands, shopping, laundry, etc and maybe work remotely from his home. His insurance will cover some home care and he is able to cash pay. About the care needs: . He likes old TV shows like Seinfeld, he likes sports. He may appreciate someone reading to him, although sometimes he can't hear or understand what is being said. He is often confused and will misidentify people, patience is necessary. He can be grouchy and stubborn. He likes ice cream. His brain is melting. He sees people who are not there. He is dying. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
