About who needs care: My dad is 86. Body is failing but mind/memory is good. diabetes, heart, kidney, hearing loss, poor eyesight. Still mobile, uses a cane. Watches a lot of conservative news and TV, farming and gardening interest. Sleeps a lot. Can be cranky/spicy but not mean. Has very rough mornings but then improves through the day. His wife (my mother) needs to be able to get away and decompress. She is 84 and I see the wear on her. She gives him his medicine and shots and tries her best but I'm afraid for her mental well-being too. About the care needs: Patience. Willing to talk loudly or help with headset. He does not/cannot wear hearing aids but the headset does work. Maybe able to give insulin shot (but my mother can do that). Should be conservative in political views. Christian would be preferable. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
