About the job
Help with day to day activities, laundry, cleaning, and showering (1-2x per week). Sitting with Mike so his wife can step out and run errands if needed. Bathroom primarily assisting with hand urinal when needed. Mike enjoys magazines, space, movies, forest preserves, birds, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He is a retired Urbana Firefighter and Vietnam Veteran. He is in a wheelchair and had a massive stroke 10 years ago, leaving him with right side weakness. Ability to lift when necessary, assistance with a Hoyer lift. First aid certified and insured. Patience is a must, Mike's speech is limited but once you get to know him, you understand his wants and needs easier.
