We're looking for respite care for my father's wife, who is his primary caregiver, so she can take time off each week. The companion who's a good fit is someone with a direct personality who won't always be interested in conversation or activities, so can attend to themselves when he wants to be left alone. The plan is to start slow, so Dad gets to know you and become comfortable with you before you're there while his wife is out. This is a 1099 position, 4-10 hours a week in the afternoon. We're open to a fixed or flexible schedule. My father uses a walker and needs some memory care, but he's alert and aware. He may need reminders to take oxygen and meds (his wife leaves each AM/PM meds in a container). He loves his cats, so please don't respond if you're allergic or don't like cats.
