About who needs care: Diagnosed with Posterior Cortical Atrophy in 2015. Near complete vision loss. Struggles with memory (Good long-term, Poor short-term). Accepts condition. Even tempered. Loves to socialize. Is independent with eating meals (not prep). Is independent with using restroom. Can walk up and down the street independently. Loves watching/listening to old sitcoms and gameshows. Mostly looking for companionship while wife is at work for a few hours About the care needs: Positive mental attitude Willing to engage in good-hearted conversations Proactive. Willing to suggest activity ideas Willing to be patient with memory and vision issues Experience with memory loss and vision impairment a plus A good sense of humor is a big plus Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship.
