About who needs care: Mother-in-Law has Parkinsons' Disease. She also has orthostatic blood pressure that gets low, and she loses consciousness when going to the bathroom. She cannot walk long distances typically to the commode or bathroom toilet we use a belt. Her day is very structured. 9 a.m. breakfast in bed (She eats same thing daily instant cream of wheat, hot tea, toast with butter). Noon- lunch Open-faced Ham sandwich with mustard Dinner (I typically cook but if I can't then she eats TV dinner) She watches TV daily and stays in bed. She needs assistance to go to the bathroom. About the care needs: Looking for someone to be here during the day to watch her and help get food for her along with assisting her to walk to bathroom. Need to be familiar with assisting patient that has orthostatic hypotension and Parkinson's. Her cognitive ability is still excellent she just doesn't have the strength to be mobile anymore. Also, you should like watching Hallmark/ Lifetime, Game Show Network and Judge Judy....(fair warning.) Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
