About who needs care: Looking for a warm, energetic, and patient companion to spend the day with a 75-year-old man in the early stages of Alzheimers. The ideal candidate is kind, engaging, and enjoys meaningful conversation and shared activities. The goal of the day is social connection and gentle cognitive stimulation. Activities may include a visit to the Botanic Gardens to enjoy the tulips and take a perimeter walk, preparing and sharing a simple lunch together, and spending relaxed time working on a puzzle, going for a walk, or doing a word search. Ideally, the person we hire would have flexibility with days and times. On average 8-12 hours weekly. A chance to make a meaningful impact through companionship and presence. About the care needs: My husband, a retired psychologist, has a high intellect and enjoys history, fishing, and nature. He is quiet, easygoing, gentle, and loves social engagement, storytelling, and laughter. Services needed include: companionship.
