About who needs care: My parent was recently diagnosed with neuropathy and has mobility issues (there may be an underlying condition of Parkinson's, she has scheduled appointments with a neurologist and for further testing. She is currently in a skilled nursing facility and will be discharged soon. Want to have a plan in place. Her hobbies are going to the arts (theater, concerts, museums), reading and taking intellectual courses to stimulate her mind. She also likes spending time with her friends doing those things listed above. But because of her condition, these activities and hobbies/interests are limited. A typical day: Morning: She wakes up around 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and then has her morning black coffee (no sugar, no cream), eats her bowl of yogurt mixed with blueberries and dried oats. Next, she gets bathed/cleaned and then gets dressed, and get her hair c. Then, she gets ready for her online classes (virtually). Her first class starts at 9:30 a.m. (classes lasts about 2 hours). She sometimes has an after noon class which starts at 1:15 p.m. After classes, she will do light cleaning and/or reading to keep active. She will check and respond to e-mails throughout the day. Afternoon: At noon or 12:30 a.m. she will make a cheese sandwich mainly. Sometimes she will take a nap or do light exercising (to help with her balance). She may also snake throughout the day on low sodium, low sugar snakes. In the afternoon, the plan is to bring in physical therapy/occupational therapy into the home a few days of week. Evening: Around 5:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. she will eat dinner. After dinner, I usually spend time with her, and then around 10 p.m. she goes to bed. Putting pajamas on, brushing her teeth and then put her into bed. About the care needs: Someone who is kind and is a good listener. My mother likes to talk and share information with others.
