About who needs care: Mother has diabetes with other underlying ailments that contribute to issues with vision, mobility and memory. Is dealing with depression. Can no longer drive due to vision problems. Husband died 4 years ago, just moved and sold home for a new place. Does not have any real hobbies or interest since his death. She needs something to do besides packing and unpacking clothes, shoes and hats she has accumulated, yet no longer wears. About the care needs: Must be someone who is patient that does not ask a lot of questions about her past. She needs someone that can help her find something to be passionate about, to get up everyday and not focus on being sick. When asked what she wants to do or where she wants to go, her answer is "I don't know." She likes to sew and decorate yet is very limited in doing these things due to vision issues. Getting her to a place of acceptance that she can no longer drive and utilizing the service options available instead of relying on friends. Getting her to the point of reclaiming her independence in a new way. Meaning she has to better plan things out. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
