Our son is 20 years old. He was paralyzed at 17 by a gunshot wound. He is your normal 20-year-old guy just can't use his body from chest down and requires a caregiver. He loves to play ps5, watch shows and movies, color, play cards, go to the store, movies or mall, strolls around the block. I have been his full time paid caregiver for 3 years and am looking for help so I can rest or do things I enjoy. I am flexible with the schedule also. I would like for him to have someone other than me and family members to hang out with. He is a funny guy and great sense of humor and loves to tease you and joke around. I'd like for him to have somewhat of a routine when you're taking care of him. We want to take baby steps into transitioning into other caregivers then me. Breakfast, getting out of bed, arm workout, maybe help with shower and any other activity like shows or getting out of house. Gaming, shows, cards, coloring, painting, shopping. Someone who has experience a spinal cord injury / paralyzed person who has worked with a hoyer lift and sling. Power wheelchairs and Shower chairs. First aid/CPR certification Park in front of our house. One small dog and one cat. They are both very quiet and friendly but will stay out of your way.
