About who needs care: Step mother has dementia, her husband suffers from short term memory loss and is not focused enough to provide needed basic care and assistance. I have them temporarily for another week while trying to get them into Assisted Living. She has been great most days with toileting and dressing. I am looking for assistance in helping her mostly with showering and toileting assistance (when/if needed). About the care needs: An ideal caregiver would be of same gender, funny, and intuitive with different ideas to help her with making her own correct choices. She responds well to humor, smiles and hugs, and loves to share stories of her kids and grandkids. Gentle reminders keep her on track, I am just not the right gender to help her with toileting/showering. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
