About who needs care: My mom has been diagnosed and living with Pulmonary Lateral Sclerosis for several years now. She is very advanced and unable to communicate or move herself at all. She does have a device in which she can write messages, which is helpful when it's in front of her and she is able to use it. My father is her full-time caregiver and obviously this is quite challenging for one person. Lately she's had a couple of hospital trips and a few in the past couple of years, which lately seem to be getting worse and worse when it comes to the care she's receiving. So not only is my father having to care for her when he's home with her, but he's worried about leaving her even to shower for an hour when she's in the hospital due to nursing staff not paying attention and being unable to communicate with her. About the care needs: Someone patient, compassionate, kind, possibly an understanding of this illness in particular, and outgoing. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
