About who needs care: My mother in law has brain cancer and has transitioned into hospice care. Her tumor is in a place that is affecting the part of her brain that helps her communicate. She has a hard time speaking the words she wants. Sometimes, she will say the same few words over and over again and her sentences do not make sense. Communicating with her in YES/NO questions only is good. She is restricted to a 1-bed apartment. She has headaches and sleepiness. Most of the time, she needs assistance with ADLs and we would like help with having her eat. About the care needs: We really just want someone compassionate who wants to spend time with her. She is lonely and sad, and her partner works Monday to Friday. It would be great for her to spend time with a friend. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
