About who needs care: My mother uses a walker for mobility, and we recently ordered a wheelchair to help her move around the complex more comfortably. She is becoming increasingly forgetful, and one of our primary concerns is ensuring she takes her medication on time. She and my father, who is also 80, live in a ranch-style, single-floor home, which makes mobility easier. However, she still requires daily assistance with basic tasks. While we have cameras in the house that were helpful in monitoring her safety a few years ago, her needs have increased, making it more difficult to rely solely on this system for supervision. We are looking for a compassionate caregiver who can provide support with her daily routine to improve her quality of life. Some key areas where she needs assistance include: Medication reminders and administration Meal preparation and assistance with eating Helping her shower once a week Assisting with dressing in the morning Providing support when using the toilet Supervising and guiding the cleaning service during their bi-weekly visits We do have a bi-weekly cleaning service, so deep cleaning is not required. However, we do expect the caregiver to tidy up after meals and clean up after themselves to maintain a comfortable and hygienic environment. Beyond these tasks, our goal is to find someone who not only provides practical assistance but also offers patience, kindness, and companionship to ensure my mother feels safe, supported, and cared for in her daily life. About the care needs: Attentive and proactive Someone who notices when she needs help and takes initiative rather than waiting for instructions. Comfortable with personal care She needs assistance with dressing, showering, and using the restroom, so a caregiver who is professional and experienced in these areas is preferred. Experience with elderly care, dementia, or memory loss is highly preferred. Ability to assist with mobility support (helping her get around safely with her walker or wheelchair). Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
