About who needs care: Early stages of Dementia. She's a retired nurse practitioner. She has short term memory loss, i. e., what she ate today, events that happened in the last few days. I give her thyroid medicine about 7 a.m. , and then 8 a.m. , vitamins and bp medicine. She has a shower every other day. Her life revolves around taking out and feeding her Maltipoo, Annie, with a little help. She usually goes back to bed several times throughout the day and lives to watch Judge Judy at 3:00 and the GA bulldogs or Falcons play on the weekend. She goes to bed after Judge Judy at 4:00 p.m. but then gets up and down for a couple of hours to take the dog out or ask for Metamucil. I give her CBD drops in the morning and at night (without her knowledge of what it is) but they have seemed to help mitigate symptoms. About the care needs: Loving but not overbearing. She needs her clothes laid out at night for the next day but might need help putting them on. She likes someone to be close by when she takes her shower but she can do it herself. Someone who loves to garden would be nice as she used to love that. And/or someone who loves dogs and cats. It needs to be a woman and someone who will encourage her to drink water and have a nourishing snack every hour or two because she keeps losing weight. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
