Beverly is my 78-year-old sister, who has stage 4 lung and brain cancer and has recently started hospice. She is pleasant and easy-going. 5'2", 95 lbs, smoker. Two small, very friendly dogs. She is frail, has trouble standing/walking, and has some cognitive decline. We need an overnight caregiver (8 p.m. to 8am) who can make sure she stays comfortable sleeping, help her use the bedside commode, transport in wheelchair to bathroom if needed, and give pain medication as required. Occasionally she may want a simple snack, which the caregiver will prepare. Beverly used to be quite social and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Nowadays she tends to lose her train of thought, but still enjoys some light conversation. She likes to watch TV, but isn't very particular about which program.
