My 72 yr old female cousin has ALS and is in the near last phase of this awful disease. She is immobile. We have round the clock caregivers but looking for someone with experience in this ALS disease with patients in the final stages. She could live up to 6 months (or longer). She cannot talk but can barely text to communicate now. She has an eye gaze tablet but hasn't used it much though she knows how. ALS experience is REQUIRED. Schedule is very flexible and not full time. Day time hours would likely be 7am-7 p.m. The ideal match will meet the requirements below. Assistance with medication is needed. We would prefer someone who can handle light housekeeping. Assistance with bathing would be helpful. Personal care required, including feeding tube feeding. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker and CPR / first-aid trained.
