About who needs care: My mother is partially paralyzed from the waist down and at the time does not get out of bed. She has a Foley catheter and requires assistance cleaning up and changing after bowel movements, as well as bathing. These are the only areas we would need assistance with while my husband and I are away. There are other family members who will remain in the home that can take care of her other needs. About the care needs: My mother is hard of hearing so the ability to communicate effectively is a must. She uses tab style underwear and needs assistance with turning in bed to be changed or bathed. Her weight is approximately 210-225 lbs and we would need you to be able to adjust her without help. The bag on her Foley catheter will need to be emptied daily, and sponge baths in bed as needed. Monitor at risk site for bedsore.
