About who needs care: My mother is partially paralyzed from the waist down and at the time does not get out of bed. She has a Foley catheter and requires assistance cleaning up and changing after bowel movements, as well as bathing. These are the only areas we would need assistance with while my husband and I are away. There are other family members who will remain in the home that can take care of her other needs. About the care needs: My mother is hard of hearing so the ability to communicate effectively is a must. She does have hearing aids, but she still has struggles with her hearing. We use tab-style underwear on her, and she will need assistance with turning in bed to be changed or bathed. Someone strong will be needed as her weight is approximately 210-225 lbs. The bag on her Foley catheter will need to be emptied daily, and sponge baths in bed as needed. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
