About who needs care: My father recently underwent 8 different surgeries and spent a little over 3 months in the hospital. He was completely independent and working manual labor before his hospitalizations. He ended up having an above the knee amputation on his left leg and had open heart surgery as well. He mostly needs help with mobility, transferring to and from his wheelchair, bathing, toileting, dressing, and medicaiton management. He is fairly low maintence, he just needs mobility help right now until he can work with therapy, get his prostetic leg, and get stronger. He will be residing with 3 family members (his brother, sister in law, and his niece) however, between injuries and age they are unable to help with the physcial tasks that my dad needs help with. I'm uncertain of the exact schedule or what exactly he needs at this moment. He is currently at a skilled nursing facility. About the care needs: Someone who is patient and understanding is a must. My dad has gone through more medically in the last 3-4 months than most people do in their lifeitme. Also, someone who can physcially help my dad as he is a new amputee and needs a lot of help with transfers and standing (this should improve as he continues to recieve therapies but right now is quite depenent). He weighs around 135 pounds but is very unsteady Services needed include: transportation, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
