About who needs care: My Dad has ALS and basically lost the use of his hands and arms. He needs assistance with toileting, bathing, eating, dressing, all ADL's and a small amount of picking up the kitchen and starting a load of laundry or 2 all while my also elderly mom is at dialysis. Hours would be 5:30am-11:30 a.m. Tue, Thurs and Sat. Dad loves to have conversations and talk about all the things he has done n his life . About the care needs: Dad likes outgoing people to engage with and the few specialized skills you would need would be taught to you . A lift if you needed it but Dad can still walk, a breathing machine if he felt like wearing it and a passive range of motion cycle machine. He is not hard to care for but with no use of arms and hands of course it's difficult to do anything. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
