81 YO mom had a stroke and going to a Skilled Nursing to recover. She's fully cognative and has excellent hearing, just gets confused when tired. She's fiesty, opinionated, loves Donald Trump and has interesting beliefs. Loves her reality TV, too. Definitely not your everyday Grandma. She is currently weak and lethargic, and needs to be encouraged/pushed/watched while eating. Will need assistance in moving her bed up/down, until you can teach her how to do it herself (it's been a struggle). She can use the nurse call button, but needs someone to advocate in case of long waits. No actual major care involved, the staff will care for her needs. We need a dependable, responsible, transparent, communicative advocate who roots her on! Heavy schedule now, but may lighten later. She will require care at home when we get to that point.
