Live-in Home Care Needed For My Father In Sanibel

About who needs care: My dad suffers from ALS. He was diagnosed in October of 2022. We are looking for someone to live in with my mom and dad at their house in Sanibel, Florida and help out in various areas as my dad continues to decline. Currently, he is in a mobile scooter and will be transitioning to a wheelchair soon. Ideally, we are looking for someone to help navigate this difficult time - tasks my dad currently needs help with are showering, changing clothes, making lunch, and occasionally using the restroom. He is an amazing, kind human and most of all needs someone that can be a friend to him and our family as we navigate the challenges ALS brings. My parents live right on the beach and my dad's favorite part of the day is taking his beach wheelchair for a daily beach sit, which he would love for his caregiver to join him on! Pay can be negotiated but would likely be more than a standard caregiver's salary. Thank you so much for considering helping out our family and please contact me if you may be interested! About the care needs: We are looking for a caregiver that is flexible, kind, and above all someone that can be a friend to my dad. My dad loves to read, play scrabble, have happy hour, and hang out on the beach. Currently, there are no special skills required in a caregiver that we desire (as he progresses, this may change). Ideally, my dad needs help with a few tasks each day and someone to hang out with him/take him out of the house sometimes. There will be a lot of downtime, so if you are a caregiver in an online school program or anything like that, this would be an ideal job for you! Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
