About who needs care: Dementia and muscle weakness. Has trouble swallowing. Needs to be reminded how to do simple things, some help with dressing and prepping food and simple daily tasks. Most help needed at night and early morning. Ideally, someone could stay here overnight, say 8 p.m. until 11 a.m. Just make sure she is stable for the day and if she has an incontinence episode, do a load of laundry and remake the bed. Make sure she eats something, takes her meds, drinks ensure and fiber, and encourage her to do her exercises. Her mobility and strength fluctuate. There is no heavy lifting, although she needs assistance getting adjusted in bed and her lift chair. About the care needs: Personality, down to earth with a sense of humor. Someone who likes murder mysteries series (ie. Death in Paradise) and dogs. We have two small house dogs. If they could be walked it would be appreciated but we do have a fenced yard if they could be fed and let out before bed and in the morning. There will be a private bed and bath for use of the caregiver as well as full use of kitchen and pantry during the stay. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
