About who needs care: My family and I are currently seeking someone to assist my 90-year-old grandmother, who has Alzheimers dementia. She remains independent in many ways and can bathe and dress herself, but she requires occasional reminders for tasks, time, and dates. We are primarily looking for companionship during the day, assistance with her meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner and light housekeeping, including laundry, making her bed, and cleaning dishes after meal preparation. The caregiver would provide support until I return from work in the evening, around 8:00 PM. My grandmother enjoys reading her Bible, watching tv, working on crossword puzzles, and going for short walks. Her typical daily schedule includes: Breakfast: Around 8:00 AM Lunch: Around 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM Dinner: Around 5:00 PM Medication: After breakfast and again at 6:30 PM before bedtime Her medications are pre-organized on a weekly basis, so she would simply need someone to administer them at the designated times.
