About who needs care: Alzheimer's. Needs assistance with dressing and basic hygiene. Likes to do puzzles, read magazines and organize cards/blocks. Likes to sit outside (weather permitting). Some light exercise is she is willing. Most days she will sleep late, but ideally would like her up by noon. Prepare basic breakfast. Basically, cannot be left alone and just needs a companion. About the care needs: Is able to deal with someone with moderate Alzheimer's and is familiar with that kind of disease and potential behavior that can go along with it. We work from home, but need someone to sit with my mother as she cannot be left alone and allows us the opportunity to leave the house as necessary. Be willing to give assistance with showers and change morning diaper (only urine). She can still use the toilet on her own, but needs assistance getting dressed and morning and afternoon snack needs to be provided. Caregiver needs a lot of patience and be able to understand that each day is a new day as my mother will not remember the caregiver... but my mother can follow a routine after a while. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
